THE TUNGUSKA EXPLOSION
The Tunguska Event, was a massive explosion that occurred near the Tunguska River at 7:17 a.m. on June 30, 1908.
The explosion flattened more than 800 square miles of trees.
Researchers think a large meteor was responsible for the devastation, but no fragments or any impact craters have been discovered.
